ABOUT ME

Introduction
Soon after starting at the University of Utah, I was hired as a research
assistant in the Utah Composites Lab. Over three years, I was able to
explore material mechanics, testing theory and analysis, composite
manufacturing and 3D printing while assisting in research.
Through the lab, I also had the opportunity to work for a local ski company, DPS Skis, that was developing a fully composite ski boot. They brought me on to manufacture and lab test their prototypes, allowing me to apply and expand my experience from the composites lab.

I was on a career path into composites manufacturing when a different opportunity presented itself and I began working on the engineering team for an orthopedic medical device company that produces spinal fixation devices and surgical instrumentation. Here, I developed strong design and project management skills to take products from initial development through product launch.

After working in the medical device industry for four years, I transitioned into the lead engineering role for a geotechnical company that provides core sampling services to support governmental and academic research. In this role, I lead engineering activities to support and sustain sophisticated analysis tools and heavy equipment.

I believe that my professional engineering experience has prepared me well for this role as I move forward in my career as an engineer. I was recently laid off and am using this as an opportunity for career growth. I'm seeking an employer that provides a healthy and stimulating work environment where I can apply my manufacturing, design and project management skills to engineer better products.
