PARAPLEGIC SIT SKI

Sean Halsted, of the US Paralympic Nordic Team, was using a heavy, flexible aluminum and plastic seat (saddle) for World Cup competition. I helped construct a stronger, lighter and stiffer composite net-shaped alternative that would increase his performance. 

 

Sean, now a three-time Paralympian, sits in the curved area at the top with his knees supported on the lower platform. He used this saddle to compete in several events at the 2018 Pyeongchang Paralympic Winter Games.
